The Douma-Alta Foundation for international art projects was founded in 2011.
Mission
The Douma-Alta Foundation creates a new platform on international level for Vocational Trained dance students, graduated dancers, choreographers and dance teachers. Starting from the dance discipline, cultural bridges are crossed and, with respect for each other's culture, we facilitate in creating joint multi-disciplinary dance internships or theater performances. This way, Dutch dancers, choreographers and teachers are given the opportunity to broaden their field of work, knowledge and skills and expand their network to European or even global level. Gained experiences are captured and infused in new projects, allowing the platform to grow both in a qualitative and quantitative way.
Our mission is realised in close cooperation with international dance companies, art schools, art institutions and governmental bodies. Through intercultural projects, with primarily young people, modern-day ideas from various cultures are exchanged, providing a source of inspiration for educational ways of working and new insights in dance. This way, interaction between dance, music, theater and visual arts are being stimulated.
The multidisciplinary character and the richness of international dance disciplines allow the Douma-Alta Foundation to support young dancers, choreographers and teachers in their aim to capture and communicate contemporary social issues in an innovative way.
Do you have an innovative art initiative or idea, but have no clue how to start, bring together the right people and disciplines, know how to organise the business and financial side?
